- Downloaded the toolkit from the developers site.
- Unzip the toolkit.
- Open up the folder, and click on the green Android icon.
- Enter into bootloader by pressing the volume down and power buttons.
- Once in bootloader, plug your Nexus 5 into your PC via USB cable.
- Just follow the onscreen instructions.

- Configure your drivers if you haven’t already using the driver guide (If you aren’t sure use Step 3 of the driver guide to test your drivers).
- If you need to, backup your important data.
- Unlock your device
- Root your device
